Installation Procedure

  1. Apply clean engine oil to the roller and outside of the valve lifter.
  2. Install the valve lifter.
  3. Install the valve lifter guides on the valve lifters.
  4. Install the valve lifter guide retainer.
    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  5. Fig 1: View Of Valve Lifter, Guides, Retainers & Bolts

  6. Tighten the valve lifter guide retainer bolt.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolt to 11 N.m (97 lb in).

  7. Install the cylinder head. Refer to Cylinder Head Replacement - Left  or Cylinder Head Replacement - Right .
