Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 GMC Sierra, 2004 GMC Cab & Chassis Sierra, 2004 Chevrolet Silverado, and 2004 Chevrolet Cab & Chassis Silverado. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
    IMPORTANT: Lubricate the NEW sealing washers with diesel fuel before installing.
  1. Install the oil feed pipe and NEW sealing washers.
    • Each end of the oil feed pipe has different bend angles.
    • Ensure the 90 degree bend is towards the turbocharger.
    • Align the pipe as shown to clear the turbocharger lower heat shield.
    2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  2. Install the oil feed pipe bolt.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolt to 34 N.m (25 lb ft).

  3. Install the turbocharger. Refer to Turbocharger Replacement .
