Installation Procedure

  1. Install NEW O-ring seals onto the oil level indicator tube.
  2. Lightly lubricate the O-ring seals with engine oil.
  3. Install the oil level indicator tube.

  5. Install the right exhaust manifold. Refer to Exhaust Manifold Replacement - Right (6.6L (LB7) Engine) in Engine Exhaust.
    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  6. Install the fuel injection control module bracket bolt holding the oil level indicator tube.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolt to 21 N.m (15 lb ft).

  7. Install the oil level indicator.
  8. Install the heater outlet hose bracket nut (1) and bolt (2).

    Tighten: 

    • Tighten the nut to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
    • Tighten the bolt to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  10. Install the starter motor. Refer to Starter Motor Replacement (6.6L (LB7) Engine) in Engine Electrical.
  11. Install the right front fender wheelhouse inner panel. Refer to Wheelhouse Panel Replacement in Body Front End.
