Installation Procedure

  1. Apply grease to the oil pump drive gear for ease of assembly.
  2. IMPORTANT: Correct alignment of the oil pump drive and oil pump driveshaft is critical. Make sure both components mate correctly, or engine damage may occur.
    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Line up the oil pump drive, making sure that the oil pump is fully seated in the engine block.
  4. Install the oil pump, making sure that the oil pump drive is fully seated in the engine block.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolt to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  6. Install the intake manifold. Refer to Intake Manifold Replacement .
