Installation Procedure

IMPORTANT:
Make sure the flywheel is installed correctly. "Engine Side" is stamped on the flywheel to aid with installation.
- If equipped with a manual transmission, Install the engine flywheel.
- If equipped with a automatic transmission, Install the engine flywheel.NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
- Install the engine flywheel bolts.
Tighten:
- Tighten the bolts a first pass to 40 N.m (30 lb ft).
- Tighten the bolts a second pass to 80 N.m (59 lb ft).
- Tighten the bolts a final pass to 100 N.m (74 lb ft).
- If equipped with a manual transmission, install the clutch assembly. Refer to Clutch Assembly Replacement in Clutch.
- If equipped with a automatic transmission, install the transmission. Refer to Transmission Replacement (With 8.1L (L18) Engine) in Automatic Transmission - Allison.
