Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the cylinder head. Refer to Cylinder Head Replacement - Left  or Cylinder Head Replacement - Right .
  2. Loosen the valve lifter guide retainer bolts.
  3. Remove the valve lifter guide retainers.
  4. Remove the valve lifter guides.
  5. Remove the valve lifters.

  7. If required, clean and inspect the lifters. Refer to Valve Lifters Cleaning and Inspection .
