Installation Procedure

- Ensure that the crankshaft is free of oil and dirt.
- Clean the seal bore in the flywheel housing.
- Position the crankshaft rear oil seal onto the crankshaft.IMPORTANT: J 44642 must be fully secured to the crankshaft to ensure proper seal depth.
- Install J 44642 to the crankshaft.
- Press the crankshaft rear oil seal into position using J 44642 , the tool will bottom out when the seal reaches the proper depth.
- Remove J 44642 .
- Install the flywheel. Refer to Engine Flywheel Replacement (Automatic Transmission) or Engine Flywheel Replacement (Manual Transmission) .
