Diagnostic Aids

Remove EGR valve and inspect for deposits that may interfere with EGR valve pintle extending completely or cause pintle to stick. If problem is intermittent, see INTERMITTENT CONDITIONS  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
