Installation Procedure

  1. Install the drive belt idler pulley and bolt to the generator bracket.

    Snug the bolt finger tight.

    2. Fig 1: View Of Drive Belt Idler Pulley (5.3L Engine W/RPO HP2)

  2. Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement - Accessory (4.8L, 5.3L, and 6.0L Engines)  or Drive Belt Replacement - Accessory (5.3L Engine w/RPO HP2) .
    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Tighten the drive belt idler pulley bolt.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolt to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).
