Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 GMC Sierra and 2004 Chevrolet Silverado. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Apply sealant GM P/N 12346004, (Canadian P/N 10953480), or equivalent around the indicator tube 13 mm (0.5 in) below the tube bead.
  2. Install the indicator tube. Rotate the oil level indicator tube into position.
    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Install the indicator tube bolt.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolt to 12 N.m (106 lb in).

  5. Install the right exhaust manifold. Refer to Exhaust Manifold Replacement - Right (4.3L Engine) in Engine Exhaust.
  6. Install the oil level indicator.
