Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 8 other vehicles, including the 2004 GMC Sierra, 2004 GMC Cab & Chassis Sierra, 2004 Chevrolet Silverado, 2004 Chevrolet Cab & Chassis Silverado, and 2003 GMC Sierra. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Apply the park brake and block the wheels.
  2. Disconnect the inlet hose, the steering gear, and the return hoses from the booster assembly.
  3. Remove the master cylinder. Refer to Master Cylinder Replacement (Vacuum Boost)  or Master Cylinder Replacement (Hydraulic Boost) .
  4. Remove the stop lamp switch. Refer to Stop Lamp Switch Replacement in Lighting Systems.
  5. Remove the 4 booster to bulkhead nuts.
  6. Remove the booster assembly.

  8. Remove the gasket.
