Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 8 other vehicles, including the 2004 GMC Sierra, 2004 GMC Cab & Chassis Sierra, 2004 Chevrolet Silverado, 2004 Chevrolet Cab & Chassis Silverado, and 2003 GMC Sierra. Release the park brake.
Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
For the 15 series vehicles, remove the nut from the threaded end of the intermediate cable.

Disconnect the equalizer from the rear park brake cables.
For 25/35 series vehicles, disable the park brake cable automatic adjuster. Refer to Disabling the Park Brake Cable Automatic Adjuster .

For 25/35 series vehicles, disconnect the cable at the equalizer.
