Removal Procedure

  1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System (without HP2) .
  2. Reposition the inlet hose clamp from the radiator.
  3. Remove the inlet hose from the radiator.

  5. Remove the radiator outlet hose from the radiator. Refer to Radiator Hose Quick Connect Fitting .
  6. Remove the lower fan shroud. Refer to Fan Shroud Replacement - Lower .
  7. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Engine Controls - 8.1L.
  8. Remove the push pin from the air cleaner adapter (2).
  9. Remove the bolts from the air cleaner adapter (2).
  10. Remove the air cleaner adapter (2) from the vehicle.

  12. Position the radiator vent inlet hose clamp from the radiator.
  13. Remove the vent inlet hose from the radiator.

  15. Remove the engine oil cooler lines from the radiator. Refer to Engine Oil Cooler Pipe/Hose Quick Connect Fitting .
  16. Remove the transmission oil cooler lines from the radiator. Refer to Transmission Fluid Cooler Line Quick Connect Fitting in Automatic Transmission - 4L80-E/4L85-E.
  17. Remove the radiator bolts.
  18. Remove the radiator from the vehicle.
