Removal Procedure

- Loosen the air cleaner outlet duct clamps from the throttle body.
- Loosen the air cleaner outlet duct clamps from the mass air flow (MAF) sensor.
- Remove the air cleaner outlet duct.
- Remove the hybrid control module (HCM). Refer to Hybrid Control Module (HCM) Replacement (5.3L Engine w/RPO HP2) in Engine Electrical.
- Remove the throttle body heater hose retainer from the fan shroud.
- Remove the inlet radiator hose retainer from the fan shroud.
- Remove the fan shroud retainers.
- Remove the fan shroud bolts.
- Remove the upper fan shroud.
