Removal (4.3L)

  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect negative battery cable. Disconnect breather tube at air cleaner outlet duct. Disconnect Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor harness connector. Remove air cleaner outlet duct retaining wingnut. Loosen air cleaner outlet duct-to-MAF sensor clamp. Remove air cleaner outlet duct.
  2. Remove air cleaner outlet duct adapter stud. See Fig 1. Disconnect accelerator control cable from throttle body. Disconnect cruise control cable from throttle body (if equipped). Remove 2 accelerator control cable routing bracket-to-throttle body retaining nuts. See Fig 2. Position accelerator control cable routing bracket aside.
  3. Remove accelerator control cable bracket retaining stud and nuts. Position accelerator control cable bracket aside. Disconnect IAC valve and TP sensor harness connectors from throttle body. Remove throttle body retaining studs. Remove throttle body assembly from intake manifold. Remove flange gasket and discard.
