Removal & Installation (4.3L)

  1. Disconnect EVAP canister purge solenoid pipe at the EVAP canister purge solenoid and secure aside. Disconnect EVAP canister purge solenoid electrical connector. Remove nut retaining engine wiring harness bracket to intake manifold stud near EVAP canister purge solenoid on right side of engine. See Figure.
  2. Remove engine wiring harness bracket from intake manifold mounting stud. Remove EVAP canister purge solenoid mounting nuts. Remove EVAP canister purge solenoid from intake manifold mounting studs. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten EVAP canister purge solenoid mounting nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
