Removal Procedure

Important  : Do not remove the crankshaft rear oil seal housing if only replacing the crankshaft rear oil seal.

  1. Remove the oil pan Refer to Oil Pan Replacement (2WD)  or Oil Pan Replacement (4WD) .
  2. Remove the transmission assembly.
  3. Remove the engine flywheel. Refer to Engine Flywheel Replacement .
  4. Remove the bolts and the nut holding the crankshaft rear oil seal housing to the engine.
  5. Remove the crankshaft rear oil seal housing.

  7. Remove and discard the crankshaft rear oil seal housing gasket.
  8. Clean all the sealing surfaces.
  9. Inspect and replace the crankshaft rear oil seal housing for warping, cracks, wear, or damage.
