Installation Procedure

  1. Install the lower fan shroud in the vehicle.
    1. 1.1. Position the lower fan shroud against the radiator.
    2. 1.2. Engage the locating tabs by pushing down on the fan shroud.

  2. Install the upper fan shroud.
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE .
  3. Install the upper fan shroud attaching screws.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the screws to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  4. Connect the coolant recovery reservoir hose to the lower fan shroud.

  5. If equipped with the 2.2L, install the air intake duct assembly:
    • Loosen the air duct clamps.
    • Remove the air duct rivets (2).
    • Remove the intake duct assembly (1) from the fan shroud (3).
    • Install the intake air ducts.

      Tighten 

      Tighten the intake air duct clamps 5 N.m (44 lb in).

    • Install the rivets (2).
