Park Brake Shoe Inspection - Rear Drum

  1. Raise the vehicle.
  2. Remove the rear brake drum. See DRUM BRAKE SHOE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  3. Inspect and replace the brake shoe and lining if any of the following conditions are found: Excessive wear indicated by the brake lining being worn down to the shoe. Brake shoe lining cracking. Oil or fluid contamination.
  4. Adjust the park brake if necessary. See PARK BRAKE ADJUSTMENT .
  5. Install the rear brake drum. See DRUM BRAKE SHOE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  6. Lower the vehicle.
