Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the door trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Side Rear Door (Utility)  or Trim Panel Replacement - Side Rear Door (Extended Cab P/U Only) .
  2. Disconnect the electrical connectors as needed.
  3. Remove the rubber conduit from the door and the body hinge pillar.
  4. Apply cloth-backed tape to the door and the body hinge pillar in order to protect the door and the body hinge pillar from scratches.
  5. Remove the lower hinge pin retainer.

  6. Remove the lower hinge pin by completing the following steps:
    1. 6.1. Use a pair of locking pliers in order to grasp the pin.
    2. 6.2. Use a soft-faced hammer in order to drive out the pin.
    3. 6.3. Install a bolt through the lower hinges in order to temporarily hold the door in place during the removal of the upper hinge.
  7. Remove the upper hinge pin retainer.
  8. Remove the upper hinge pin.
  9. Remove the bolt from the lower pin hole.
  10. Remove the door from the vehicle.
