Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the body hinge pillar trim panel. Refer to TRIM PANEL REPLACEMENT - LEFT HINGE PILLAR or TRIM PANEL REPLACEMENT - RIGHT HINGE PILLAR in Interior Trim.
  2. Remove the rubber grommet from the door and the B-pillar.
  3. Remove the cross-body wire harness connector.
  4. Apply cloth-backed tape to the door and the B-pillar in order to protect the door and the B-pillar from scratches.
  5. Use the J 39761-A  in order to remove the door hinge spring.

  6. Remove the door hinge roller pin. Refer to Hinge Roller Pin Replacement - Door .
  7. Remove the hinge pin using a soft-faced hammer and locking pliers.
  8. Temporarily install a bolt through the lower hinge in order to hold the door in place.
  9. Remove the upper hinge pin.
  10. Remove the temporary bolt from the lower hinge.
  11. Remove the door from the vehicle.
  12. Remove and discard the door hinge pin bushings.
