Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the high mount stoplamp (endgate window-mounted only). Refer to HIGH MOUNTED STOP LAMP REPLACEMENT (PICKUP) or HIGH MOUNTED STOP LAMP REPLACEMENT (UTILITY - ROOF MOUNTED) or HIGH MOUNTED STOP LAMP REPLACEMENT (UTILITY - ENDGATE WINDOW) in EXTERIOR LIGHTS article.
  2. Open the endgate window.
  3. Mark the location of the endgate window hinges on the body for proper alignment at installation.
  4. Disconnect the rear window defogger connectors, if equipped.
  5. Remove the endgate window struts. Refer to STRUT REPLACEMENT - END GATE .

  6. Remove the bolts that retain the endgate window hinges to the vehicle.
  7. With an assistant, remove the endgate glass from the vehicle.
