Removal Procedure

  1. Open and support the endgate window.
    NOTE: Refer to LIFTGATE ASSIST ROD NOTICE in GM VEHICLES CAUTIONS & NOTICES article.
  2. Lift up the retainer clips on the endgate window struts using a small flat-bladed tool.

  3. Remove the upper end of the endgate window struts from the ball joint.
  4. Remove the lower end of the endgate window struts from the ball joint.
