Installation Procedure

  1. Install the pickup box to the vehicle.
  2. Install the screws that retain the fuel filler neck to the pickup box.
  3. Install the ground wire that retains the fuel filler neck to the pickup box.
  4. Install the license plate lamp. Refer to LICENSE LAMP REPLACEMENT (W/STEP BUMPER) or LICENSE LAMP REPLACEMENT (W/O STEP BUMPER) or LICENSE LAMP REPLACEMENT (FILLER PANEL) in EXTERIOR LIGHTS article.
  5. Install the wiring harness ground wire to the frame.
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in GM VEHICLES CAUTIONS & NOTICES article.
  6. Install the bolts that retain the frame to the pickup box.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the bolts to 70 N.m (52 lb ft).

  7. Install the rear tail lamp assemblies. Refer to TAIL LAMP REPLACEMENT (PICKUP) or TAIL LAMP REPLACEMENT (UTILITY) in EXTERIOR LIGHTS article.
