Installation Procedure

  1. Install the splash shield to the wheel house panel. Refer to WHEELHOUSE EXTENSION REPLACEMENT .
  2. Install the wheel house panel to the fender.

    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in CAUTIONS & NOTICES article.
  3. Install the wheel house panel to the cowl.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the bolts that retain the wheel house panel to the frame to 29 N.m (21 lb ft).

  4. Install the bolts that retain the wheel house panel to the fender.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the bolts to 29 N.m (21 lb ft).

  5. Install the bolts that retain the wheel house panel to the radiator support.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the bolts to 29 N.m (21 lb ft).

  6. Install the coolant recovery reservoir. Refer to COOLANT RECOVERY RESERVOIR REPLACEMENT in ENGINE COOLING article.
  7. Install the VCM/PCM to the coolant recovery reservoir. Refer to the appropriate procedure:

  8. Install the battery tray. Refer to BATTERY TRAY REPLACEMENT in BATTERY article.
  9. Install the battery. Refer to BATTERY REPLACEMENT in BATTERY article.
