Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the engine cover. Refer to ENGINE COVER REPLACEMENT in Interior Trim.
  2. Disconnect the spark plug wires for the right side of the engine from the distributor cap. Refer to ENGINE CONTROLS - REMOVAL & INSTALLATION in Engine Performance.
  3. Remove the PCV tube from the valve rocker arm cover and the air cleaner outlet duct.

  4. Remove the engine wiring harness bracket from the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve stud.

  5. Move the engine wiring harness aside.
  6. Remove the right valve rocker arm cover. Refer to VALVE ROCKER ARM COVER REMOVAL - RIGHT  .
  7. Clean all sealing surfaces and the valve rocker arm cover. Refer to VALVE ROCKER ARM COVER CLEANING AND INSPECTION  .
