Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 GMC Safari and 2003 Chevrolet Astro. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the right valve rocker arm cover and bolts. Refer to VALVE ROCKER ARM COVER INSTALLATION - RIGHT  .
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
  2. Install the engine wiring harness bracket and nut to EVAP canister purge solenoid valve stud.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the engine wiring harness bracket nut to 8 N.m (71 lb in).

  3. Install the PCV hose in the valve rocker arm cover and the air cleaner outlet duct.

  4. Connect the spark plug wires to the distributor cap. Refer to ENGINE CONTROLS - REMOVAL & INSTALLATION in Engine Performance.
  5. Install the engine cover. Refer to ENGINE COVER REPLACEMENT in Interior Trim.
