Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 GMC Safari and 2003 Chevrolet Astro. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: Do not start the engine with any power steering hose disconnected, or damage to the components could occur.
  1. Install the hydraulic brake booster inlet hose to vehicle.

  2. Connect the hydraulic brake booster inlet hose to the hydraulic brake booster.
  3. Raise the vehicle. Refer to LIFTING AND JACKING THE VEHICLE in General Information.
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
  4. Connect the hydraulic brake booster inlet hose to the power steering pump.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the hydraulic brake booster inlet hose to the power steering pump to 27 N.m (20 lb ft).

  5. Bleed the system. Refer to BLEEDING THE POWER STEERING SYSTEM .
