Door Adjustment

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 GMC Safari and 2003 Chevrolet Astro. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The original door hinges are welded in place and the adjustment of this system is not possible. Adjustment is only possible with service bolt-on hinges.

  1. Adjust the door in order to obtain a gap of 5.0-1.0 mm (0.196-0.039 in) between the door (2) and the door frame (1) at the points shown.
  2. Ensure that the door surface (1) is flush with the body surface (6) within 1.0 mm (0.039 in). Enlarge the striker hole if needed.
