Removal procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 GMC Safari and 2003 Chevrolet Astro. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Remove the IP assembly. Refer to INSTRUMENT PANEL (I/P) ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  2. Remove the vacuum hose from the mode actuator.
  3. Slide the actuator off the mounting bracket in order to remove the actuator.
  4. Rotate the actuator (2) so that the actuator linkage slips off the post on the mode door linkage.
  5. Remove the actuator linkage from the mode door linkage.
