Removal Procedure

  1. Drain the engine coolant. Refer to DRAINING AND FILLING COOLING SYSTEM in Engine Cooling.
  2. Using the J 38185,  reposition the outlet heater hose clamp at the heater core.
  3. Remove the outlet heater hose from the heater core.
  4. Using the J 38185,  reposition the inlet heater hose clamp at the heater core.
  5. Remove the inlet heater hose from the heater core.
  6. Remove the screws (9) that retain the cover to the heater case assembly.
  7. Remove the straps (8) that retain the heater core to the heater case assembly.
  8. Remove the heater core (7) from the vehicle.
