Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 GMC Safari and 2003 Chevrolet Astro. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the new O-ring seal. Refer to O-RING REPLACEMENT  .
  2. Install the evaporator tube (2) to the condenser (4).
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Caution and Notices.
  3. Tighten the evaporator tube nut (3) to the condenser (4).

    Tighten 

    Tighten the nut to 28 N.m (20 lb ft).

  4. Install the grille. Refer to GRILLE REPLACEMENT in Exterior Trim.
  5. Install the new O-ring seal. Refer to O-RING REPLACEMENT  .
  6. Install the evaporator tube to the evaporator.

  7. Tighten the evaporator tube nut at the evaporator.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the nut to 28 N.m (20 lb ft).

  8. Evacuate and recharge the system. Refer to REFRIGERANT RECOVERY AND RECHARGING .
  9. Leak test the fittings of the component using the J 39400-A. 
  10. Install the air cleaner. Refer to AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY in Removal & Installation.
