Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 GMC Safari and 2003 Chevrolet Astro. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Using a pry bar, lower the stabilizer shaft.
  2. Install the stabilizer shaft insulators to the stabilizer shaft. Make sure the slit in the stabilizer shaft insulators faces forward.
  3. Install the stabilizer shaft brackets to the stabilizer shaft insulators.
  4. Install the stabilizer shaft bracket mounting bolts (right hand).

    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
  5. Install the stabilizer shaft bracket mounting bolt and nut (left hand).

    Tighten 

    Tighten the stabilizer shaft bracket mounting bolts and the nut to 55 N.m (41 lb ft).

  6. Install the idler arms to the frame.

  7. Install the idler arm mounting bolts.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the idler arm mounting bolt to 105 N.m (77 lb ft).

  8. Lower the vehicle.
