Removal Procedure

  1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to JACKING AND LIFTING in General Information.
  2. Support the lower control arm.
  3. Remove the tire and wheel. Refer to TIRE AND WHEEL REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION in Tires and Wheels.
  4. Remove the wheelhouse splash shield. Refer to SPLASH SHIELD REPLACEMENT - WHEELHOUSE in Body Front End.
  5. Remove the shock absorber lower mounting nut, the washer, and the bolt.
  6. Remove the shock absorber upper mounting nut, the washer, and the bolt.
  7. Remove the shock absorber.
