Removal Procedure

Drain the cooling system. Refer to DRAINING AND FILLING COOLING SYSTEM .
Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to ENGINE CONTROLS - REMOVAL & INSTALLATION in Engine Controls-4.3L
Using the J 38185 , reposition the radiator outlet hose clamp from the radiator.
Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to LIFTING AND JACKING THE VEHICLE in General Information.
Using the J 38185 , reposition the radiator outlet hose clamp from the water pump.
Remove the outlet hose.
