Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 GMC Safari and 2003 Chevrolet Astro. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
  1. Install the wiper motor to the liftgate with the 2 bolts.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the bolts to 7.0 N.m (62 lb in).

  2. Install the seal, the spacer, and the nut.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the nut to 6.0 N.m (53 lb in).

  3. Install the wiper arm and blade. Refer to WIPER ARM REPLACEMENT - REAR .
  4. Connect the wiper motor electrical connector.
  5. Install the liftgate garnish molding. Refer to GARNISH MOLDING REPLACEMENT - LIFT GATE in Body Rear End.
