Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 GMC Safari and 2003 Chevrolet Astro. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
CAUTION: Refer to BATTERY DISCONNECT CAUTION in Cautions and Notices.
  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable.
  2. Remove the instrument panel cluster trim plate. Refer to TRIM PANEL REPLACEMENT - INSTRUMENT PANEL (I/P) CLUSTER in Instrument Panel and Gages.
  3. Remove the switch from the plate by using the following
    1. Release the retaining tabs on the sides of the switch.
    2. Pull the switch out of the plate.
    3. Disconnect the electrical connector(s) at the back of the headlamp switch.
