Parking Brake Cable (Right Rear): Installation

  1. Install cable. Take care to correctly route the cable through the guide and bracket.
  2. Install cable to the lever.
  3. Install cable to the backing plate by pressing the cable into place until locking tabs snap into place.
  4. Install cable to the differential clip.
  5. NOTE: After installing cable to rear axle holding clip, verify that clip is securely retaining the cable. If not, crimp the clip by hand, taking care not to pinch or kink the cable.
  6. Install cable to the differential clip.
  7. Connect cable end to the equalizer.
  8. Install threaded end of cable into the adjuster nut.
  9. Remove safety stands and lower vehicle.
  10. Adjust parking brake. See PARKING BRAKE  under ADJUSTMENTS.
