Master Cylinder Reservoir: Installation

- Inspect reservoir for cracks or deformation. If found, replace the reservoir.
- Clean reservoir with denatured alcohol.
- Dry reservoir with non-lubricated, filtered air.
- Lubricate NEW seals and outer surface area of the reservoir-to-housing barrels with DOT-3 brake fluid from a clean, sealed brake fluid container.
- Install lubricated seals. Ensure they are fully seated.
- Install reservoir to master cylinder by pressing reservoir straight down on master cylinder until the pin holes are aligned.
- Carefully tap the reservoir retaining pins into place to secure the reservoir.
- Install diaphragm in the cover.
- Install cover on reservoir. See Figure.
- Remove master cylinder from vice.
- Install master cylinder. See MASTER CYLINDER .
