Disc Brake Hardware (Front): Installation

  1. Lubricate front brake caliper, bushings, bolts and seals with high temperature silicone brake lubricant.
  2. Install caliper pin boots to disc brake caliper mounting bracket.
  3. Install disc brake pad retainers to disc brake caliper mounting bracket.
  4. Install disc brake pads to disc brake caliper mounting bracket.
  5. Install front brake caliper onto the front brake rotor and check for firm pedal. See FRONT BRAKE CALIPER .
  6. With engine off, gradually apply brake pedal about 2/3 of the pedal's travel distance.
  7. Slowly release brake pedal.
  8. Wait 15 seconds, then repeat brake pedal application until a firm brake pedal is obtained to properly seat brake caliper pistons and brake pads.
  9. Lower vehicle.
