Disc Brake Caliper Bracket (Front): Installation

  1. Install brake caliper bracket.
  2. Remove all traces of original adhesive patch. Clean bolt threads with denatured alcohol and allow to dry. Apply Loctite(R) to bolt threads.
  3. Install caliper bracket mounting bolts. Tighten brake caliper bracket-to-knuckle bolt to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  4. Install anti-rattle clips to brake caliper bracket.
  5. Install brake pads to brake caliper bracket. Install inner pad wear indicator.
  6. Slide brake pads in until they contact rotor.
  7. Install brake caliper.
  8. Install tire and wheel assembly.
  9. Lower vehicle.
  10. With engine OFF, gradually apply brake pedal to about 2/3 of its travel distance.
  11. Slowly release brake pedal.
  12. Wait 15 seconds, then repeat applying brakes until a firm pedal is obtained. This will properly seat brake caliper pistons and brake pads.
