Disc Brake Backing Plate (Rear): Installation

  1. Install backing plate to axle housing flange.
  2. Install and tighten backing plate nuts. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  3. Install parking brake shoe.
  4. On AWD models, install axle shaft.
  5. On all models, adjust parking brake shoe.
  6. Install rotor.
  7. Install rear parking brake cable to parking brake actuator lever.
  8. Install parking brake cable to mounting bracket until the locking tabs snap into place.
  9. Tighten nut to the intermediate cable at the equalizer.
  10. Install wheel.
  11. Lower vehicle.
  12. Adjust parking brake cable. See PARKING BRAKE  under ADJUSTMENTS.
