Brake Rotor (Front): Removal

  1. Raise and support vehicle.
  2. Remove wheels.
  3. Mark the relationship of the rotor to the hub.
  4. Remove brake caliper bracket mounting bolts.
  5. NOTE: DO NOT disconnect hydraulic brake flexible hose from caliper.
  6. Remove brake caliper and brake caliper mounting bracket as an assembly and support with wire.
  7. Remove rotor retaining push nuts from wheel studs (if applicable).
  8. It may be necessary to strike the end of the hub or the rotor with a deadblow hammer to separate the rotor from the hub.
  9. Remove rotor.
