Brake Booster Accumulator: Removal

- Depress brake pedal at least 20 times to relieve pressure in accumulator.
- Remove master cylinder nuts from the hydraulic booster.
- Remove master cylinder and secure away from the hydraulic booster.
- Remove hydraulic booster. See BRAKE BOOSTER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
- Place the Accumulator Piston Compressor (J-26889) over the end of the accumulator.
- Install nut on the stud.
- Depress accumulator with a C-clamp.
- Rotate retaining ring until either end of the ring is under the access hole.
- Depress and hold the ring with a small tool inserted into the access hole.
- Remove accumulator retainer ring using a small hook shaped tool.
- Release C-clamp.
- Remove nut from the stud.
- Remove actuator piston compressor tool. Remove accumulator and O-ring seal.
