Spring Hanger Replacement: Removal

NOTE: Special Tools: J-41602 Body Protection Hoist Adapter Set
  1. Install the J-41602 to the hoist and raise and support the vehicle. Support the rear axle. Remove the lower shock absorber mounting bolt and nut. Remove the muffler. Refer to Muffler Replacement in ENGINE EXHAUST SYSTEM . Remove the fuel tank. Remove the leaf spring to hanger mounting bolt and nut (left side only). Lower the rear axle.
  2. Remove the hanger mounting nuts. Remove the hanger mounting bolts. Remove the hanger from the frame. See Fig 1.
