Spring Bushing Replacement: Removal

  1. Remove the leaf spring from the vehicle. Refer to LEAF SPRING REPLACEMENT . Remove the bushing from the spring assembly.
  2. Press the spring bushing from the spring in an arbor press. See Fig 1. Clean the spring eye of any remaining parts of the bushing. Remove any burrs from the spring eye that could cause the new bushing to bind when the bushing is installed.
