Removal Procedure

- Raise the vehicle to a suitable height.IMPORTANT: The assist step assembly does not have to be removed to replace the assist step support bracket.
- Remove the nuts that attach the assist step plate to the assist step support bracket.
- The assist step support brackets are to be numbered 1 through 5 in the order when removing.
- Remove the nuts and bolts (1) that attach the assist step plate to the assist step bracket.
- Remove the bolts (2) that attach the assist step plate to the assist step support bracket to the underbody.
- Remove the assist step support bracket from the vehicle.
