Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 GMC Safari and 2003 Chevrolet Astro. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Raise the vehicle to a suitable height.
    IMPORTANT: The assist step assembly does not have to be removed to replace the assist step brace.
  2. Remove the nuts and bolts (1) that attach the assist step brace to the assist step support bracket.
  3. Remove the assist step brace.
