Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 GMC Safari and 2003 Chevrolet Astro. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Align the marks made on the pitman arm during removal in order to install the pitman arm on the pitman shaft.
    NOTE:
  2. Install the washer and the pitman arm retaining nut.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the pitman arm retaining nut to 250 N.m (185 lb ft).

  3. Install the power steering gear. Refer to POWER STEERING GEAR REPLACEMENT (RWD) or POWER STEERING GEAR REPLACEMENT (AWD) in Power Steering System.
  4. Lower the vehicle.
