"U" Series

  1. If vehicle is equipped with content theft deterrent system, go to next step. If vehicle is not equipped with content theft deterrent system, repair by symptom. See SYMPTOM INDEX  table under SYSTEM TESTS.
  2. Attempt to enter BCM diagnostic mode. See RETRIEVING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES . If BCM enters diagnostic mode, go to next step. If BCM does not enter diagnostic mode, perform BODY CONTROL SYSTEM DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK in appropriate BODY CONTROL MODULES article.
  3. If FASTEN SEAT BELT indicator flashes any DTCs, go to next step. If FASTEN SEAT BELT indicator does not flash any DTCs, repair by symptom. SYMPTOM INDEX  table under SYSTEM TESTS.
  4. If FASTEN SEAT BELT indicator flashes DTC 7, perform appropriate test in accordance with DTC retrieved. See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE DEFINITIONS . If FASTEN SEAT BELT indicator does not flash DTC 7, perform appropriate test in accordance with DTC retrieved. See appropriate BODY CONTROL MODULES article.
